ABOUT MONIQUE

A Skilled Photographer

Monique Archuleta was born and raised in a Chicano household on the north side of Denver. With over ten years under her belt, Monique is a seasoned professional photographer. Her upbringing and cultural identity lead her to find inspiration in politics, status/class identity, environmental issues, and social issues. When it comes to her art she focuses on the conceptual imagery with a balanced level of photographic skill.  Monique often finds herself creating work that connects to people in a vulnerable and emotional way. By connection to people, when it comes to her portraits and events she will take that connection and emotion and bring out the natural beauty. For Monique does not see life as harshly as reality but sees people for their glow and personality. She inspires to be a photographer that photographs true beauty in people, in things, and in places. However, that does not mean that she can't make images look flawless, such as skin and body. Monique can create perfect Social Media portraits if asked too and does not judge. She is an open-minded person who loves photographing others: men, women, children, they, them, and anyone!

Monique graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fall 2019 from the Metropolitan State University of Denver.  Monique Has been Volunteering in the Auraria Photo Lab developing film, mixing color developer, creating developers for alternative processes, and running digital printers since 2016. She worked for amazing companies such as Denver Art Museum, working with many departments and photographing the art.

With experience ranging from gallery shows at the Center of Visual Art to selling her work for First Friday.
